Returnings

Returnings is an ongoing body of work made during my visits to Latvia, the country of my birth. Combining photographs with fragments of writing, the project reflects on the emotional and symbolic complexity of returning — to land, to memory, and to versions of myself I left behind.

The work explores what it means to feel both rooted and estranged, to carry belonging as something partial, inherited, and continually renegotiated. Through quiet landscapes, familial rituals, Returnings traces how place lives on in the body and psyche — shaped by culture, fractured by migration, softened by time.
