Performance-based self-portraits, the work experiments with the symbolism of landscape, nature and female representation. The bird stands for the figure of the Gaze; the idea of being looked at. The woods are the space of disorder, commonly associated with the myth of a primal origin. Through the act of construction, Poiša points towards the idea of womanliness as a masquerade, challenging the patriarchal idea of femininity as nature, and the symbolic binding of the strict codes of representation.
